Placing a Service Request in Equips.com

One of my least favorite jobs that I have ever had was in a customer service call center for a retail organization. There, I saw a different side of the human experience that I didn’t know was possible. Many of the customers I spoke with existed on a different plane of “intellect”, and I took the liberty of writing down two notebooks full of things I never thought I would hear come out of an adults mouth.  Things like, I am not sure what size shoe I wear. Should I just mail you a sketch of my foot? Or I would like to use my Amazon Prime for free two-day shipping. Please understand that I did not work for Amazon and the customer did not get two-day shipping. What made this job especially challenging, aside from conversing with all these Harvard graduates, was the software program used for nearly every aspect of the job. The interface looked like something from a spy movie and didn’t require a mouse to operate. Instead, the program relied on a series of function keys and Alt keys in order to do things as simple as placing orders. What I really love about Equips.com is how simple it is for customers to begin placing a service request. In the following paragraphs, I am going to show you exactly how to do it.

New Platform for Placing Service Request

If you are more familiar with the old version of Equips.com, you are probably accustomed to being able to place a service request in about 45 seconds. With our newest version of the program, you can place a service request in only 15 seconds! The first thing you are going to want to do is sign into your account. From there, you will notice a button at the very top that says “Start service request”. You can go ahead and give it a good click. From there you will select the location of the equipment that needs maintenance.

This will automatically set to your default location, and can be changed by searching for another location. From there, just select the type of equipment that needs attention, and the exact piece of equipment that needs service. After that, you will see a variety of different ways to describe the issue you are having with the machine, as well as a text box where you can include additional information about the problem you are having. For instance, you might select “Video Malfunction” because there are deal pixels on the screen of your device. You would include that kind of information in the text box. From there, your contact information should be populated under “Main contact” so that should we or a service provider need to get ahold of you, we can. You may also add an additional contact to this section if there is another stakeholder involved. After that, click “Get help” and your request will be sent out to your preferred service provider!
