We all love getting things done fast. That’s why we use self-checkout lanes at the supermarket, shop through Amazon, and, if you’re a Midwesterner, order the occasional greasy butter-burger at Culver’s. There never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done. And, if you’re in charge of managing equipment, those hours can feel like minutes. This is why Equips has developed a web application that minimizes the amount of time you spend requesting service, ordering consumables, and scheduling preventive maintenance. In the following paragraphs, I am going to demonstrate for you how much easier your job could be with Equips.

Placing a Service Request

Believe it or not, the process for requesting service on your equipment doesn’t have to be tedious. In fact, you don’t necessarily have to speak to anyone. We have designed a way for you to request service from your preferred provider in as little as 15 seconds (my personal best is actually 14.51 seconds, not to brag).

Here is how you do it. Begin by logging into your account. Don’t have one yet? No problem—you can create one right now for free. Once you are logged in, turn your attention to the top left corner of your screen. You’ll see a big blue button that says Start Service Request. Click on it. You will then see the below screen. Select the equipment location, category of equipment, and the device.

Next, select all issues that are relevant to your situation so your service provider can perform personalized service for you. You can also add extra notes or pictures that might help your technician in the Additional Information section.

Before you hit Submit Service Request, be sure to add all stakeholders as contacts so we know who to reach out to with status updates. And there you have it—you just placed a service request.

Ordering Consumables

Now that you have placed your first service request, let’s order some consumables. Once again, turn your attention to the top left corner of your screen (I hope you’re sensing a pattern here). Click Order Consumables.

Select your location, the equipment category, and the device you for which you are ordering consumables. Then just select the quantity and add any additional information that might be necessary. Hit Request Consumables—there you have it, you just placed an order and spent very little time and effort doing it.

Scheduling Preventive Maintenance

So by now you’ve requested service and ordered consumables, but now it is time to schedule out some preventive maintenance so you can keep your equipment up and running and avoid costly repairs later on. To schedule preventive maintenance, you guessed it, click Schedule Preventive Maintenance in the top left corner of your screen.

Select the category and the location of your equipment, then select the date you would like to receive preventive maintenance. Lastly, add any additional information that might help your technician and click Schedule Preventive Maintenance. Now you can forget all about preventive maintenance for a while. Give yourself a pat on the back for being so proactive. Good for you!
